Aussie F1 audiences will hear…

Australian TV audiences will take Sky's F1 commentary feed
The SKY Team (L-R): Anthony Davidson, David Croft, Natalie Pinkham, Martin Brundle, Simon Lazenby, Georgie Thompson, Ted Kravitz

Australia’s Network Ten has finally confirmed that we will be hearing the SKY F1 commentary feed for the 2012 season, which will be headed by David Croft and Martin Brundle.

Veteran Network Ten F1 presenter Greg Rust broke the news on his Twitter feed tonight.

“[To] all the F1 followers thanks for your patience. [We] will be taking the Sky Sports F1 commentary for the 2012 F1 season,” he wrote.

“It starts with the Australian Grand Prix. You’ll hear their commentary on Ten Sport for qualifying and the race. Have a great call, Martin and Crofty, and all your team!”

Thought it will be sad to lose the BBC feed, which blew me away when I was in the UK a couple of years ago, it is best for continuity if Australia has the Sky Sports F1 feed, rather than the likely alternative of being subjected to the One HD crew calling the action during races which BBC don’t broadcast live.

Martin Brundle and David Croft should complement each other well as commentators, although Ben Edwards on the BBC with Coulthard doesn’t sound too bad either…
