Let’s see what bones we can break this time…
Despite being barred by his employers from completing his own charity endurance event in Tasmania earlier this month on the grounds of concern for his safety, Mark Webber has still managed a daredevil activity this week, by taking a passenger ride on the back of a Grand Prix motorcycle.
The Australian travelled to Queensland Raceway, west of the city of Brisbane, to be a passenger on a Ducati 2-Up bike driven by three-time Superbike World Champion and former MotoGP racer Troy Bayliss.
“Some things need doing,” Webber would later quip via his Twitter feed, after posting a picture snapped of he and Bayliss in full flight.
The stunt will no doubt have had Red Bull figures concerned, given the veteran racer’s propensity for injuring himself in off-field activities.
During the 2008/9 off-season, Webber suffered a badly-broken right leg when he was hit by a car while competing in the Mark Webber charity challenge in Tasmania.
And during the 2010 season, Webber broke a bone in his shoulder when he fell off his bicycle while cycling with a friend between Grands Prix.
