Räikkönen-Williams deal dead in the water…
With the 2011 season now officially brought to a close, the next focus for F1 fans and pundits will be on gets the few remaining available seats that will make up the 2011 grid, or who will get booted from the seats they thought they had in the bag.
One this is for certain through, that being that the rumoured deal for Kimi Räikkönen to join Williams is now off. The Finn is now said to be trying his luck at getting one of the seats at Lotus Renault GP.
The end of an era for Williams
One of Formula 1’s longest-serving figures, Patrick Head, has announced that he will quit the sport at the end of the year after over 30 years of frontline competition with Williams. He will head up the team’s ever-expanding new hybrid technology division.
D’Ambrosio dumped, Pic picked
Mere hours after the team’s Cosworth engine had fired its last howl for the 2011 season, Marussia (nee Virgin Racing) has announced it will dispense with Jérôme d’Ambrosio’s services for 2012, having signed Frenchman Charles Pic in his place.
Coulthard, McKenzie remain at BBC
In the wake of Martin Brundle confirming his defection to SKY Sports next year, the BBC has revealed part of its 2012 broadcast line-up by announcing that it will retain the services of David Coulthard and Lee McKenzie as it scales back its F1 broadcast commitment.

Four years removed since his last full-time drive, Tomas Scheckter has said his open-wheel career in America is at the crossroads. Should his efforts to secure a full-time ride for 2012 do not materialise, he has admitted that he may consider seeking employment in another series.
